Who is he?
Denis D'Aoust has been a professional musician for most of his adult life, a member of the American Federation of Musicians since he was sixteen. He has performed in bands of many different styles over the years, has appeared on several recordings, on radio and television. For the last decade and a half, he has been performing as a solo keyboardist, piano/vocalist, as well as writing songs and composing and recording video soundtracks.
He holds a degree in Music Technology, and owned his own digital multi-track recording studio for close to fifteen years. He has worked with multi-track analog, Digital Performer, Pro-Tools, and Cubase, DA-88s, ADATs, and Alesis Hard Disc recorders.
Over the years, he has engineered and produced various acts, from amateur to professional, solo acts to large ensembles. His many years in the music business have given him the experience needed to work in many music genres. He has been a judge in the Best Producer category for the JUNO awards, Canada's equivalent to the Grammy awards.
He's based in the San Francisco Bay area, has set up a project studio in his home and is helping songwriters achieve their goals by producing great sounding recordings for his clients.
Yes, he works out of a "Home Studio" where he turns out consistently great sounding tracks, using equipment which includes Focusrite's Saffire, a fire-wire digital recording interface capable of 24bit, 192k quality, teamed with Cubase.
